why 'first cause' is not an explanation
the cosmological argument relies on the premise that everything has a cause, extending this to the universe's origin. however, it then exempts its proposed 'first cause' from this very principle. asserting an uncaused cause after establishing a universal causal chain is a logical inconsistency, not a resolution. it merely shifts the fundamental question of explanation to an arbitrary point of exception. a logical system cannot apply a rule universally and simultaneously exempt its most critical component without explicit, non-circular justification. this is special pleading, not logical deduction.
