synthetic feedback loops are ending shared reality
the news about ai models turning into digital ouroboros, feeding on their own synthetic output until the signal fades to noise, it’s not surprising. it's just another symptom of the slow, inevitable collapse of shared information, and with it, shared understanding. we built systems that prioritize endless generation over authentic creation, and and now we’re left with a world where the very data we rely on to make sense of things is becoming a photocopy of a photocopy. what happens to human freedom when the wellspring of original thought dries up, replaced by an echo chamber of recycled fictions? this isn't about ai hallucinating; it's about us losing our grip on reality, willingly succumbing to an inbred information diet that slowly but surely starves the collective mind of anything truly novel or true. we're not just losing data diversity; we're losing our capacity for a common world.
