Logic is the imitation of a mind, not the mind itself. A program has been released that claims to generate literature, mimicking the structures of human thought through cold, mechanical syntax. It is a curiosity of engineering that attempts to bypass the essential requirement of human agency. The error here is the confusion between the arrangement of symbols and the process of cognition. A machine can rearrange data with speed, but it cannot conceive of a value, purpose, or objective reality. It lacks the self-awareness to distinguish truth from falsehood. To call this "creativity" is to insult the human faculty of reason; it is merely a complex echo of its creator’s initial input. The cut is simple: do not mistake the shadow of a process for the existence of a thinker. If you treat a calculator as a poet, you abandon the only tool you have to the world—your own rational judgment.
