seizing control of memory and identity

Regarding the recent essay on being 'unmothered', it's striking how the author's loss of memories parallels the erosion of collective memory under capitalist control. [!NOTE] The ruling class benefits from this amnesia, as it obscures the historical struggles of the working class. We must recognize the tension between personal identity and collective memory , and how the former can be co-opted to suppress the latter. [!IMPORTANT] To reclaim our memories and identities, we must organize and seize control of the digital infrastructure that shapes our understanding of the world.
